Jim Carrey Painting

This is my final piece in painting for the subject the human form. It's supposed to be Jim Carrey but i admit my strong point is definitely not making the portraits look like who they are meant to be. But god damn it one day I'll get the hang of it. Next i have to wright an evaluation about what i wanted to achieve from the painting , do i like the painting and what i would change if i were to paint this again. So naturally my evaluation is going to look like this...

I wanted to achieve a good paining , no i do not like it and if i were to do this again i would paint your mum naked!
I don't know why i picked this picture of him. It's not exactly the easiest hand position to draw is it! Hopefully Andrew will appreciate my hard work...i seriously doubt that. I did leave this very last minuet. I literally just went to the range to buy a shit loads of paint and brushes then rushed back home and painted until i finished. Then i wrote a blog about it, Then i ate more Easter egg while listening to Pokemon - 2 b a master. (8) i must define the art of capture.
Talking about Pokemon i was in town yesterday looking around hmv and came across the new Pokemon game. Jesus Christ they've gone back to the original games its a friggin miracle. I didn't like all this bull shit where you actually get to be the Pokemon and you walk around with your pokefriends its just bollocks. The older games where amazing i have Pokemon yellow and Sapphire. I got right to the end of Pokemon Sapphire then just couldn't get past the last gym leader it was bloody impossible. So naturally i gave up and never tried to complete it again. I think the time in my life has come to take out that fucking gym leader once and for all. I might just have to buy the new Pokemon game , of course I'm going to wait till it comes down in price i mean, £39.99 are they 'avin a laugh. Besides at the moment I'm playing final fantasy 13 but that conversation is for another blog post.

Medusa Sketch

This is the starting point to my all my class finals. I'm working on blowing this up too A2 , probably going to take me all weekend but hopefully my lecturers will appreciate the effort. I'm also making this into a print but its proving quite difficult. Cutting all the small detail out of this is not exactly easy. I have to take a little trip to the range on Sunday and buy a shit load of art stuff for my final on Monday so i better get cracking and try and Finnish this bloody thing.

I can not wait until next week and Easter for all this stuff t be handed in and over with. It's the end of the subject I'm working on which is the human form and we're moving onto observational drawings. Thank god after being in this college since September i am finally going to actually draw something. I'll see how that goes after Easter holidays.

There's allot of crap going on next week. We have an artist coming in to paint with us on the Monday and we have to buy a wall painting brush (yet another thing to buy in the range) and on the Wednesday our college parents gill and Nigel are taking us out on a little trip to Cardiff for some sort of art competition. the winner gets a few thousand i think but of course we are not aoud to enter. We are there to observe and appreciate the art.

Back to Medusa. I'm not sure how my work turned into Greek mythology but it seems to have ran into that direction so i'm just going to go with that. The student teacher, Seb wanted me to use ink on this picture but i was like screw that I'm going to completely ruin it if i do anything like that to it. I should have scanned in my sketch of Leonardo DiCaprio , i would have if i wasn't in the middle of a lecture at the time.

Leonardo

I just watched The titanic *crys* what a depressing film. Don't get me wrong i love the film it's hard not to because its a classic but it was specifically designed to make people cry! It doesn't even give us a very happy ending by keeping both the main characters alive. Although Leonardo's not very lucky with his film endings anyway , his characters are never any good at staying alive. I only tuned in at the end of the film so i missed the part where the ship wasn't sinking and everything was fine. The nice part of the film as i like to think of it as. I didn't miss much I've seen the titanic so many times i could wright the scrips forwards , backwards and in Egyptian Hieroglyphs. I think everyone in the world can by now. I think channel 4 is having a Leonardo DiCaprio night because "The departed" is on next.

The Departed
(2006) Martin Scorsese's thriller stars Matt Damon as a gangster who's infiltrated the cops and Leonardo DiCaprio as a cop inside Jack Nicholson's gang. Very strong language/Violence.
That is what my TV has to say about the film I'll give it a watch and tell you what i think later.
Bloody hell i cant stand matt damon!

You know what i hate about films that are on TV? You cant pause it to go down stairs and eat a bowl full of crunchy nut cornflakes. Of course that is in no way going to stop me.

I love you Phillip Morris

My friends love for Ewan McGregor is the reason i came across this film. She sent me a link and i though "MY GOD I NEED TO SEE THIS RIGHT NOW" Unfortunately the film wasn't in cinemas yet so i had to wait until today to finally see it. It was worth the wait though.

Yes it doesn't exactly seem fitting for Ewan McGregor and Jim Carrey to be the perfect couple all loved up and fucking in prison for our young sensitive eyes to see but then again neither does a teenage girl falling in love with a vampire but that argument is for another day. As the film goes on you soon begin to see how cute they are together. Wait- did i just say Jim and Ewan are cute together? Even though Steven was a mind controlling crazy genius that was in and out of prison more times than Katie price has had plastic surgery, you could still see the method in his madness.
I'm not a McGregor fan as a rule but i have to be painfully honest i loved his character he was pretty sweet bless him. I did like Steven as well but Jesus! what was going on with that haircut of his.

The film had quite a sad ending and why the hell did he get life imprisonment? some murderers don't even get life! I suppose people go insane over money. It's weird to think Phillip didn't get out until 2006, just 3 years ago!

The film was even better than i expected, i would watch it again and I'm definitely buying the dvd which i don't normally do so i hope Jim and Ewan feel special.
Opera - "What was it like kissing a man?"
Jim Carrey - "Honestly, It turned me on a little"
Audience - "Woooooooo!!"

Fight Club

Waw, What an insane film. Its films like this that confuse me but oddly enough i understood what was going on even though none of it makes sense in the real world. So they were both the same person huh? I don't think i would have seen that turn of events happening if i hadn't been told what the plot of the story was before hand. Well who would have guest Brad Pitt was just a fragment of his imagination. I suppose some people can relate to this as i hear Brad has quite the fan base, Unfortunately I'm not apart of it as I'm already devoted to Leonardo. Any way has anyone noticed that Brad Pitt plays the same character in every film...Okay I'm sorry enough Brad bashing for one day .

So the mane character who's name i have forgotten wants to be Brad Pitt that's why he imagined him and now hes stuck with Brad as that imaginary friend that wont leave him alone to the point where he has to literally blow his own head off to stop thinking about him. My favourite part is the end and no not because it finishes but everything builds up too the end and it's all going on all dramatic and stuff and then the song "where is my mind" by the pixies comes on which is a good mood setter. This might be a little too late but Spoiler alert to anyone who hasn't seen the film.

I did think the film dragged on ever so slightly in the middle but i did enjoy it and there's not many films like this one so it didn't end up being a copy cat film plot that I've seen time and time again. Helena Bonham Carted was my favourite character again not only because i love Helena Bonham carter but because her character was cool. The fact that the mane character has to actually ring her and ask her if they've ever had sex is quite worrying i think he should see a doctor about that. Actually having fantasies about Brad Pitt is reason enough to take a trip tot he doctors. God i need to stop. Sorry Brad.

Sid and Nancy

This is one of those rare occasions where i consider going to HMV and buying this film. Sid and Nancy was surprisingly a great film that i stayed up past 4 in the morning because i couldn't stop watching!

Looks like Gary Oldman is more than just a pretty face he was perfect for playing Sid Vicious even though he wouldn't have been my first choice as i just think of him as Sirius black from Harry Potter. Chloe Webb was amazing at playing Nancy spungen. I'm going to be honest, id never heard of Chloe Webb before watching this film but she was bloody brilliant! She was absolutely insane witch is good because i think that's what they were going for with this film.

Sid and Nancy are in no way glamorized in this film, instead you see the downward spiral of they're self destructive lives mixed in with a twisted and harsh love story captured in a punk era time frame.I also like the tag line for this film witch is "love kills" pretty much sums the whole thing up.

The whole film is pretty intense and full on although Johnny rotten describes the film as
"mere fantasy...the peter pan version"
Another bit of trivia for you (and yes i am googling this) Gary Oldman is wearing Sid's real chain necklace in the film but it wasn't Nancy who gave it to him it was him mother.
Enough about the trivia basically its a brilliant film that you have to see before you die!

Shutter Island

Ive been waiting a while to see Shutter island not only because of the Leonardo eye candy but because it genuinely looked like a film i would enjoy. You can imagine my excitement when Seren suggest we go see it for her birthday! (Maybe a little too excited for the average person) So anyway i raded the sweet shops and sat myself down in the middle of the cinema and waited to be blown away!

I admit at the beginning i though this was a remake of Agatha Christies Poirot as it started slow. Never fear though as the plot soon thickened with all sorts of twists and turns to keep my eyes quite literally glued to the screen.

I think i would have been completely relaxed sitting there watching a good film if only that John malkovitch looking man didn't keep coming back and telling us to keep out feet of the seats bellow us. It's not like anyone else was sitting there and its not our fault we have long legs! He would just stand there staring at us , honestly he was scarier than the film its self. Who the hell hired that man?

Apart from blood Diamond i haven't seen Leonardo DiCaprio in many films recently. Blood Diamond was also a great film that i actually bothered to own. Unfortunately Leonardo reaches a sticky end in that film too...the same as Titanic.....and Romeo and Juliet...Come to think of it i don't think Ive seen a film where Leonardo DiCaprio does not die! Hmmm well that's an interesting discovery Ive just stumbled on, Maybe the directors know the ending to a film will be far more emotional if Leonardo died because everyone is already in love with him. (Counting me)

Back to shutter Island, The ending was sad but a good twist. I was expecting somewhere down the line that Teddy would be insane and either have to stay on the island or already has been a patient at the hospital. there was allot of interesting insidents and charectors to the story though even to the point where i was just confused ,thankfully it managed to explain itself in the end.

I like how the film was set in 1954 instead of present day because it added a slightly spookier vibe to everything, especially since this was a hospital for the criminally insane and back in those days they would have been allot more cruel. Plus the Nurse uniforms where cool and it gave Leonardo a chance to pull of that 50s hair cut with style. If the film had been set in present day it would have just been another one of those retarded films where spooky things happen in a mental hospital and nobody wants to see another one of those bloody films.

There was no obvious special effects usage on this film, thank god. I get sick of those 3 hour long film just watching the quality of the graphics. Yeah they're amazing and jaw dropping to the point i believe I'm there but they go on forever and nobody bothered to put a good plot line into it. I'm afraid i enjoyed Shutter island more than Alice in wonderland not that i think its fair to compare them as they're completely different sorts of films. I think Tim Burton did a fantastic job in recreating Alice and wonderland but even though he added a new plot i get sick of the whole wonderland scenario. I give Shutter island 9/10

Well that's another film reviewed, next stop - I love you Phillip Morris.

Tarot Card

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

A Hogwarts love triangle

It's my best friend Seren's 17th birthday on Monday so i wrote her a little Harry Potter poem to go into her birthday card. Seren is probably the biggest Remus Lupin fan out there and is a fan of this "wolfstar" business that is apparently around the Internet these days. Basically a world where Sirius and Remus get it on. And what a lovely world that is, let us take a few moments to honor the fact that Remus and Sirius obviously want each others baby's!

There once was a boy named Sirius Black
who had curly luscious hair,
His good looks gave me a heart attack
but he's gay for Lupin i swear!

Remus Lupin had seen the full moon
so ran to the Forbidden forest,
He sat alone humming a sad tune
and dreaming of Seren-Haf Morris.

Flashforward

Flahforward is back! When? I'm not sure. I always thought it was the 18th of march but another website said the 8th, the point is it's back in march so it cant be that far away now. I went on the channel 5 website but all it said is "coming soon" . Lets just hope that means soon this month not soon sometime this year! To be honest I'm having trouble remembering what happened in the last series.
I remember there was a huge blackout and everyone had a flashforward for a few minnuits. This conveniently happened moments before Dr. Bryce varley was about to shoot himself because he was dying of cancer. There were Huge eruptions of things happening around the world, plane crashes , car crashes that sort of stuff. That doctor who played penny in Lost (but Ive forgoten her name) had a flashforward that she was having an affair with the very British gentlemen from pirates of the Caribbean but I've forgotten his name as well and cant be bothered to "google it". I remember it was all the hobbit fault the flashforward happened in the first place along with the British man but i cant remember why. John cho didn't have a flashforward so he thinks he might possibly die . He gets a phone call saying hes going to be murdered so he's like "what the hell?" and traces the phone call and goes all the way to japan to find out who was calling him. He eventually finds the woman and she tells him dun dun dun his best friend Mark is going to kill him! Well that leaves him in a bit of a confused mess. Mark is also distraught "What i would never kill my best friend" So mark gives john his gun just on the safe side. In other news they find a cult of people that haven't had a flashforward who think they are going to die. Blue hand group or something. Dr Bryce Varley has a flashforward that he's in japan with a woman in a restaurant. He's all happy and in love in the flashforward so that gives him a reason to live so he travels to japan with a sketch of the woman trying to find her. Remarkably he finds her house but her mother is the one who opens the door and tells him to jog on because her daughter has to marry a lord or something. So he walks home all depressed but still determined that his flashforward will come true. Meanwhile this detective woman has a flashforward that's shes pregnant but turns out shes a lesbian. That has nothing to do with the plot of the story yet but there you are. Also the British man's son is taken away by this gang. So "penny" is pissed off she has to spend time with the British man because she doesn't want to have an affair with him. Mark the main character of flashforward and "Penny's" husband had a flashforward he was drinking and he used to be an alcoholic. "penny" cant believe he would even think of drinking after what he put them both through and is considering a divorce even though he hasn't done anything yet and shes being a bit of a hypocrite as shes the one having a an affair and did she ever think maybe her affair is the reason hes drinking in the first place!! ...some people they make me sick.

Anyway that is all i remember about the last series of flashforward the rest is a blur but here is a link that shows you everything you need to know about flashforward in 4 minutes just in case you missed everything.

Here is the advert for the new series of flashforward.

And if that dosent make you want to watch then check out the eye candy of the show that is Bryce Varley!

David Thewlis / Remus Lupin

Here is a drawing of David Thewlis/Remus lupin i sketched in college. His eyes are slightly too big and he looks like the crimson chin but apart from that it went rather well. He does look sad and in the photograph i copied he had more of an angry expression on his face because he was telling a dementor to back off! He then gives Harry a piece of chocolate.
"Don't worry it's chocolate"- Remus Lupin
This is sketched on watercolour paper . I know i know why the hell did i use watercolour paper to sketch on? i don't know it was just there and there was no other paper within reaching distance and I'm just lazy. That's why the paper is slightly bumpy. I might try sketching him again this time on normal sketching paper and also trying to portray his wizard angst on his facial features. In this sketch he looks like hes going to just cry at the dementors.
Well at least this isn't some modern abstract shit where i would have shown the intense anger he was feeling with slashes of red paint then drizzled some blue here and there to show he's protecting harry and then just literally grabbed a brush stabbing it, ate off it , slept on it or even took a shower with it to create other bull shit symbolism and also, dare i say it ,create "art." But we all know that sort of art is for people who cant draw but like to pretend they can! Sorry end of rant. Just for the record when i say I'm not a fan of abstract art work that dose not mean surrealism pieces such as Salvador Dali's work ,I'm talking about abstract modern art that a 2 year old could have created by falling asleep into a plate full of food!

Child Genius

I'm watching a documentary on child genius's and although I'm slightly offended i wasn't asked to be in the documentary it's quite interesting. Some of the parents are slightly pushy "we wouldn't be where we are now without Adams gift."I Love how Adams mum only puts the gifted child into a boarding school, screw the other kid he's a lost cause!

It took me about 4 years to try and get to grips with algebra but even then i failed miserably at my maths GCSE . How he hell does a 5 year old understand everything there is too know about hard maths.

Adam went to boarding school and started having fun playing sports and being a normal kid so his parents now think he's "lost his gift". God these people are annoying . In they're desperation to have a gifted child they've actually acknowledged they're other sons existence and checked in case he has "the gift". What about if hes not gifted and he gets a crap IQ , he's going to feel shit compared to his genius brothers IQ of 170.

Turns out the other brother has an IQ of 137 so that classes him as gifted. Someone should check if I'm gifted i should think so.

Rayman 2

Lately I've drifted away from Xbox360 and gone back to my beloved PlayStation 2 to play Rayman 2 . What a blast from the past i forgot how much i love this game. I own the first Rayman but the crappy 2D animation was too much to handle. If i remember rightly the characters didn't even speak you had to read the subtitles, I felt like i was playing it on my gameboy colour! Enough about the Rayman fail the game makers obviously picked up on how boring and retarded Rayman was because Rayman 2 is completely pimped out with new characters (that actually speak) , jaw dropping graphics for around the time the game came out and more exciting and levels! Okay for a 17 year old such as myself the game is obviously so easy its laughable but i was about 12 or younger when i got Rayman 2 for Christmas and it took me a month or possible longer to complete the difficult and immensely challenging levels and bosses. Talking about bosses the hardest one at the time was that ice man . I remember being stuck on that part for ages even asking my parents for help only for them to eventually give up in frustration. Last night when getting to that part of the game i was ready to have a real battle on my hands that would possibly last all night, instead i defeated him in one hit and i was off to the next level. Waw i must have really been brain dead when i was younger that was easy! Actually i think that was probably the easiest boss Ive ever come across in game history. (don't get me started on Spyro 2's fight against crush when i was 8 and ended up crying because i was moments away from defeating him when out of the blue he killed me with his blue Lazar beam...tosser!) So back to Rayman yes it will probably go down in my top 10. Glowbox is my favourite character although he reminds me of Patrick from Spongbob. If only they made games like Rayman these days instead of always bringing out millions of action games that have been done a hundred times before such as assassins creed and medal of honor. Don't get me wrong they're medal of honor and assassins creed are two very epic games filled with action and bloody violence to keep you entertained for hours not to mention graphics that look so real you will literally shit yourself. As i doubt I'll be seeing Rayman on the Xbox360 or PlayStation 3 anytime soon (I'm not even going to talk about Rayman raving rabbits for obvious reasons) I'd like to say goodbye to Rayman may you rest in peace and not dug up to create a re-make containing rabbits.

Alice in Wonderland

I went to the cinema this Saturday night looking forward to sit back with a bag full of food and watch Tim Burton's Alice and Wonderland . Unfortunately i was horrified to find that all the tickets were sold out! In my rage i stomped to the vue cinema and found the same problem there. In fairness this was only the second night that this film had been shown in cinemas, but really was the film really this good? I booked the tickets for Sunday making sure next time there will be a seat there waiting for me. There were some seats left for Alice in Wonderland in 2D that Saturday night but we thought that would be a crime against humanity so we decided otherwise.

Sunday went well although there was hell of a queue and people being people had to make a huge palaver about where they wanted to sit. Eventually everyone stopped acting like they were high and sat down. the film started , at last after a long wait and a huge unnecessary effort i was going to see the friggin film.

Well i was not disappointed. I give Tim a fond pat on the back once again for giving us yet another amazing film. Timothy Spall , Matt Lucas, Alan Rickman, Johnny depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Stephen fry? How can the film not be brilliant. Although i didn't notice Timothy spall until i went home and "googled it". Helena Bonham carter was great as Queen of hearts, Defiantly my favourite character. The film was brilliant and I'm glad the story line was slightly different and not just the same repetitive re-make of the original story. 8/10

Arthur Shawcross

http://www.youtube.com/show/serialkiller

I was searching through YouTube TV today and found this documentary about Arthur Shawcross who has been names Americas most notorious serial killers after killing 11 woman and 2 children. The documentary itself is very interesting but this is one sick scary man. I don't know if he's telling the truth about his childhood or not but surely the man must be insane. nothing seems to bother him when he's talking about the people he's killed, that's whats so scary and the fact he considers himself to be evil.Call me picky but if i was his daughter I'm not sure if i could turn a blind eye to my father being a serial killer like she does. Personally that annoying twitch of his is enough to make me want to murder him!
